Colm O’Rourke and his son Shane were both sent off during Simonstown’s first ever Leinster clash.
The Meath champions were dumped out at the quarter-final stage by a rampant Rhode but their cause wasn’t helped when influential midfielder Shane O’Rourke was given a red card after just 39 minutes.
Shane’s father, and team manager, Colm O’Rourke was sent to the stands by the referee during the first half as well in what was a disappointing day for Simonstown who had to operate without AFL-bound Conor Nash.

Out west, revenge was served to the Mayo kingpins as 2014 All-Ireland champions Corofin returned to the Connacht decider after an extra time win over Castlebar.
They now face St. Brigid’s in what is sure to be a clinker.
