Fianna Fail set to approach Anthony Daly for next general election
Ah the GAA and politics go together like ham and cheese, Bert and Ernie and Lennon and McCartney.
The list of people from the world of hurling and football who have gone down the road of local and national politics is pretty long, from Jack Lynch to Sean Kelly and John O’Mahony to name just three.
And now according to reports in today’s Clare People it looks like Anthony Daly could be next.
The newspaper are reporting that the man known as ‘Dalo’ could be enticed to running for Fianna Fail in the next general election.
The paper quotes a FF source as saying the twice All-Ireland winning captain is “the ideal candidate for the party”.
The former Dublin boss makes no secret of his political allegiance in his recent autobiography and is understood to have been approached previously to run for the party in the Banner county.
