Bernard Brogan, Alan Brogan, and Kyle Coney condemn lack of GAA media build-up

“A manager powertrip. Players should get as much exposure as possible!”

This Saturday will see two huge games take place in Croke Park, as Galway face Derry, and Dublin will play Kerry in the All-Ireland semi finals.

Two games which could be tipped as 50/50, arlmost too hard to call, and ripe with talking points, positional debates and match-up discussions.

However, according to former Dublin star Alan Brogan, the pre-match hype is nowhere near where it should be.

“Very muted, underwhelming buildup to the All Ireland Semi-Finals..”

The Dub’s legend is understandably very excited to watch his former teammates and friends go to battle against their famous rivals this Sunday, but disappointed by the lack of build-up.

Younger brother and fellow legend of the capital, Bernard Brogan, explains on Twitter that managers should be forced to allow players talk to the media more.

“My view is that inter county managers should as part of the gig have a responsibility to promote the game and allow players (that are comfortable) do media, there is also a responsibility on media to be fair to players who are amateur and have to go to work on a Monday morning.

“And yes Derry v Galway on Saturday will be another cracking game that should be analysed and hyped up this week. Only thing I saw was Jay from Inbetweeners wish Derry luck.”

Former Tyrone star Kyle Coney was quick to reply to his former foe, and pins the blame solely on management.

“Nobody else to blame for this only the manager. They are afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing & giving the opposition ‘ammunition’. A manager powertrip. Players should get as much exposure as possible!”

Brogan replied: “Agree, managers need to row in!”
