A couple of humdingers in the All-Ireland Senior Football Qualifier draw

Conan Doherty

Cavan and Derry will lock horns in the All-Ireland Senior Football Qualifiers this weekend.

The Ulster pair were drawn together on Monday morning for round three of the backdoor system and their clash was the tie of the round.

The Oak Leafers ousted Cavan by a point in the league in Breffni Park earlier in the year but they must travel south again to face off with beaten Ulster semi-finalists, who were also knocked out by Tyrone.

Damian Barton takes his men fresh from a seven-point turnaround against Meath at the weekend, a last-minute goal putting Derry two games off the quarter-finals.

Elsewhere, Mayo welcome Kildare after their comeback against Fermanagh and perhaps the story of the weekend sees Longford – who shocked Monaghan – paired with Cork.
