We’ve seen more hotly contested tussles over the remote control.
West Ham captain Mark Noble is being honoured with a testimonial at Upton Park this afternoon, as the current Hammers take on an All-Star side made up of the club’s former players.
Paolo di Canio, Rio Ferdinand, Craig Bellamy, Yossi Benayoun, Julian Dicks and Trevor Sinclair are all back at their old club and, needless to say, entertainment is taking precedence over the contest itself, with All-Stars defender Rio Ferdinand standing aside to let Noble score on the 28-year-old’s big day.
But the highlight of the opening 45 minutes was undoubtedly this goal from keeper Adrian, who collected the ball in his own penalty area and ran the length of the field to beat David James.
Adrian initially looked to have confused his own team-mates before they began ushering the big man into the penalty area where his shot beat an underwhelming attempt from James.
