Having a world-renowned footballer for an uncle clearly has its perks.

Steven Gerrard’s nephews got a one-of-a-kind present from the former Liverpool captain after LA Galaxy’s 5-1 win over New York City FC – a match-worn shirt from living legend Andrea Pirlo.

It was the first time Gerrard and Pirlo had met at club level since the 2007 Champions League final, and the Englishman paid tribute to his “fantastic” Italian counterpart.

The Galaxy moved to the top of MLS with the victory over Pirlo’s New York, with Gerrard laying on the fourth goal of the night for former West Ham midfielder Sebastian Lletget.

Gerrard’s former England team-mate Frank Lampard missed the game through injury, but David Villa and Robbie Keane both found the net for their respective teams.
