Phil Neville’s latest embarrassing error didn’t go unnoticed

Poor Phil...

Nooruddean Choudry

Poor Phil Neville.

Only a few weeks ago, the younger of the Neville brothers was being mocked for his rather unique way of counting with numbers on Sky Sports’ new The Debate show…

Then there was his rather interesting suggestion that Liverpool should replace troublesome Phillipe Coutinho with famously immaculate pro Diego Costa…

And of course who can forget the time he seemingly confused the word ‘pedestrian’ with ‘pedantic’…

In fairness, we all make mistakes, and football pundits are no different. It’s got to the stage now where people are actively looking for poor Phil to slip up. Alas, he didn’t do himself any favours on The Debate again, when talking about Arsenal’s sorry performance against a rampant Liverpool.

Talking about Arsene Wenger’s use of new signings Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolašinac, Neville referred to the ‘big money’ they’d both cost the North London club…

Sadly for Neville, although Arsenal forked out around £47m on Lacazette, their new Bosnian defender cost them precisely zero point zero pounds as a free transfer. If we’re being kind, we could assume that he was referring to Kolašinac’s wages (which aren’t particularly high), but these fans were having none of it…
