Chelsea will appeal the red card shown to Thibaut Courtois during their 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Saturday.
The Belgian goalkeeper appeared to take Bafetimbi Gomis out on the edge of the area as the Swans’ striker ran onto a through-ball from Jonjo Shelvey.
It’s not immediately clear on what basis the Blues intend to dispute the 52nd minute sending off, but their complaints will heard by the FA on Tuesday.
For those demanding an extra game ban for Courtois if appeal fails, there can't be one. Appeals allowed under regulations. Think will fail

If the appeal is unsuccessful, Courtois may be ruled out of the crunch (is it too soon to call use the term ‘crunch’?) game with Manchester City on Sunday.
