Many pundits have claimed that Herrera is too slight to play as a holding midfielder but the former Athletic Bilbao explained that he can play in defensive midfield or just off Wayne Rooney.
"I think dependable of the game, dependable of the opponent," he said.
"Sometimes when you play against an opponent who is attacking you, maybe it's better to play No.10, if you are playing against a team who is waiting for you, maybe it's better playing as holding midfielder. But I say always the same, I will play where my manager wants me to play."
