Vine: Sky Sports News journalist has had a really unfortunate slip of the tongue

Kent is the word you're looking for, Kent

Robert Redmond

It’s spreading.

Gaffe-itis is rife at Sky Sports News HQ, and we blame Paul Merson. On Friday, a presenter on the channel said Africa was ‘blacking‘ Sepp Blatter to be re-elected FIFA President. While today the gaffe came from outside the studio.

The Sky Sports News presenter cut to a journalist covering Kent v Somerset in the cricket county championship, and he made a unfortunate slip of the tongue.

The journalist mistakenly called Kent a word that rhymes with ‘hunt’, before trying, unsuccessfully, to cover his slip.

Experts were expecting gaffe-itis levels to fall over the summer months, with Merson being on a break, but it’s clear the condition is highly contagious.

We’ll keep you updated.
