Thank God we’ve someone to lose the plot over.
For once, when the boxing is faltering, we are not looking to the showjumpers.
Team Ireland finally have some great news to cheer about and it has come on the double. Claire Lambe and Sinead Jennings reached the final of the Women’s Lightweight Doubles Sculls after finishing third in their semi-final.
The Irish pair started strongly and were in second place, in their semi, with 500 metres to go. They eventually slipped back to third but it was enough to secure them a spot in the A Final and give themselves every chance of a podium finish and Olympic glory. That final will take place tomorrow.
Well done to our #olympics rowers #odonovans brothers and the ladies Jennings and Lambe

The pair’s fantastic outing set the scene for the O’Donovan brothers, from Cork, and they didn’t disappointed. Their third place finish secured them a final berth too.
