Vine: Stephen Curry’s ‘scariest fall’ overshadows victory for Houston Rockets

NBA MVP Stephen Curry suffered what he called the ‘scariest fall’ of his career and the Golden State Warriors could not recover as the Houston Rockets staved off elimination in the Western Conference finals last night

Curry fell awkwardly in the second quarter after jumping into Rockets forward Trevor Ariza under the basket and landed heavily on his upper back and head.

He was treated for several minutes on the court before walking gingerly back to the locker room for concussion tests, which, according to doctors, revealed bruising to his head rather than any injury to the brain.

Curry returned to the game midway through the third quarter but was far from his usual self as the Warriors failed to complete a series sweep over Houston which would have given the West’s top seeds a full eight days off before the NBA Finals.

The Rockets raced out to a 45-22 first quarter advantage and despite a strong second period, the Warriors never got within touching distance thanks to James Harden’s superb 45 points and nine rebounds, which might have been even better had this half-time heave actually left his hands before the buzzer.

The teams head back to San Francisco for Game 5 tomorrow night, where the Warriors will look to close out the series on their own floor.
