It’s every back-up quarterback’s dream. The chance to get into a game, fire some live bullets and, if you are a youngster hoping to make it big, the opportunity to impress the other 31 teams in the NFL.
Brock Osweiler is the Denver Broncos back-up, one of the sweetest jobs in the NFL, because he gets to learn from future Hall-of Famer Peyton Manning.
It’s also sweet because Denver are so good, they regularly blow teams out, giving ample opportunity for a back-up like Osweiler, being groomed to perhaps eventually take over for Peyton, to get some much needed game time in a low pressure situation.
The drawback? Yeah, that Peyton guy isn’t so much for coming out of the game.
Last night the Broncos led the Oakland Raiders 41-1o in the third quarter, and someone clearly told Osweiler to get ready to play. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old was a little slow when it came time to take the field, and Manning wasn’t waiting around.
Osweiler did finally get into the action late on, completing two of his five passes for just 13 yards as the Broncos won 41-17.
