Those Metallica lads have come up with a handy way of getting into sporting events for free

Metallica tore it up during the NBA Finals Game 5 encounter between Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors.

The heavy metal rockers performed an electric version of Star Spangled Banner before the Warriors’ win over LeBron James’s Cavs.

Impressed as we were with the intro, we are even more agape [with awe] at the band’s ability to swing freebies to major sporting events.

Since the turn of the year, James Hetfield and his bandmates have attended five matches, across sporting fields, in the USA.

As for the game itself, Steph Curry was the inspiration for GSW but James left it all out on the court.

With little to no support from his undermanned team-mates, James almost single-handedly kept pace with Golden State en route to yet another Finals triple double, the sixth of his career (only Magic Johnson, with eight, has more).

James finished with 40 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists, but it wasn’t enough as regular season MVP Curry’s seven three-pointers helped the Warriors pull away late in the fourth quarter for a 104-91 victory that puts them within one victory of the title.

The ‘Phantom’ camera followed the duo as they duked it out in another classic.
