CONNACHT 66-21 ZEBRE
Connacht secured the try-scoring bonus point well before half-time.
In the midst of their worst injury crisis in years, Connacht are on-course for the Champions Cup knock-out stages for the first time in their history.
Pat Lam’s men beat Italian outfit Zebre 66-21 and emergency outhalf John Cooney contributed 21 of their points.
Cooney, who won the European Cup with Leinster in 2012, is a scrum-half by profession but he is in the No.10 jersey after bad injuries to Marnitz Boshoff and Jack Carty.
Cooney raced in a fine counter-attack try to level the scores at 14-14 and then set up Tiernan O’Halloran for Connacht’s fourth with an outside the boot grubber kick.

Zebre have been subject to some heavy beatings this year and the trend continued today. O’Halloran, Matt Healy and Kieran Marmion all chipped in with two tries.
