Jesus, it’s good to have this guy around.
The British & Irish Lions were made fight tooth and nail against Highlanders at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin, and they needed every break, big performance and piece of craftiness they could get.
Jonatan Joseph and Tommy Seymour scored fine tries but the Lions’ best score came from their pack.
Having gone close out on either flank, and with a penalty advantage in their pocket, the Lions went straight for the posts through captain Sam Warburton.
At first viewing it looked like pure instinct and power from Warburton, and it was.
The second viewing showed Alun Wyn Jones doing exactly what he needed to do to make a hole for Warburton. Head down, he nudged prop Siate Tokolahi out the road and decided to drag openside Dillon Hunt with him while he was at it.
Was it legal? Well…
It could well have been called back for obstruction but it was not. And the Highlanders got away with one of their own in the first half for Waiseke Naholo’s score.
