VIDEO: Ulster’s foul-mouthed match-winner Nick Williams got a right telling off from the referee

It took St Nick to separate them on St Stephen’s Day in Galway.

For almost 80 minutes it looked like the PRO12 derby between Connacht and Ulster was going to finish as a low-scoring draw, but the visitors stole a 10-3 win at the death.

Les Kiss’s men condemned Connacht to only their third league defeat of the season when Nick Williams was on hand to profit from a blockbusting Luke Marshall break.

However Number 8 Williams – who is leaving the northern province for Cardiff at the end of the season – could have been in the sin bin after throwing a bit of a strop with the referee.

Irish whistler Peter Fitzgibbon was not happy with the manner in which the New Zealander complained after the official inadvertently got in the way late in the game.

He warned Williams about his language: “Use that language at me again and you’ll be the next to go. I don’t speak to you like that and I don’t accept that.”

That’s you told Nick.
