Ireland strolled, quite literally, through today’s Captain’s Run in Murrayfield.
With plenty of tension in the air about permutations and titles, the squad decided to lighten the mood by playing a game of “walking tip rugby” during their session this afternoon.
By the looks of things, it certainly eased the atmosphere in the camp, and captain Paul O’Connell said afterwards it was a great way to break up the intense build-up to a championship match.
“I suppose we just wanted to do something different and that’s what we did today. Guys enjoyed it, a bit of tip rugby or whatever, guys enjoyed it, so guys are relaxed,” he said in his press conference after.
I’ve played this before, and while it’s great fun altogether, it’s basically impossible to not look like a clown.
