Friday night’s win was likely to be his Cork swansong.

Simon Zebo bid Munster fans a fond farewell on Friday night after their 21-10 Pro14 victory over Glasgow Warriors.

Johann van Graan’s side won convincingly at Musgrave Park, closing the gap on their opponents at the top of the conference.

And Zebo was given a hero’s reception before the 27-year-old’s move to Racing 92 in the summer. Thanks to the Munster faithful in cork for some incredible years.

Following the win, Zebo posted a classy message to Munster fans thanking them for their continued support.

“Thanks to @hollandbilly for letting me run out with him and the little guard at the end ??
And thanks to my teammates and coaches for getting the win on my last game in Cork

Reflecting on the win, Zebo told Munster’s media team:

“Yeah, very happy with the result. It was a good performance in tough conditions, they’re a top class side and that’s only the second time they’ve lost I think so it was a very encouraging performance.

“It was a fantastic night, incredible atmosphere. It was great to see a sell-out and so many fans at the end there, so many people waited on for pictures so it was kind of special. It was an amazing end but there’s plenty of games left for us to go out and build on this performance.”

Zebo prepares to leave after eight years with Munster, during which he made 137 appearances, scoring 295 points.
