Cane has apologised for the “error in judgement which was totally out of character”.
All Blacks captain Sam Cane has apologised online after footing emerged of him forcefully kicking a pitch invader in Argentina.
New Zealand romped home to a comfortable 41-12 in the Argentinian city of Mendoza, beginning their Rugby Championship journey in style.
However, the post-game incident between Cane and the Argentinian fan has marred the coverage of the All Blacks’ victory.
Footage shows the young fan running away from stewards as the two teams congregate on the pitch following the final whistle.
The Waikato Chiefs flanker watches on as security struggles to keep up, before ultimately swinging his boot at the legs of the pitch invader, causing him to fall over to the ground.

Sam Cane issues apology:
Taking to social media after the game, Cane issued an apology for the incident in which he stated;
“Tonight after the game I made an error in judgement which was totally out of character for me”.
“I am really sorry”.
“I feel awful and am deeply disappointed in myself”.
“I am trying really hard to make contact with the person involved to apologise for my actions and to make things right”.
With Ireland captain Johnny Sexton already set to face disciplinary action for an off-field incident, it is likely that the All Blacks skipper will too be subjected to scrutiny from World Rugby for his actions.
New Zealand continue their quest for Rugby Championship glory next Saturday when they face off against the Springboks in Auckland.
