Tadhg Beirne was deemed surplus to requirements by Leinster.
They let him go and Welsh side Scarlets snapped him up. Now, barring a massive implosion, he is about to become a PRO12 champion.
The 24-year-old from Kildare has been a revelation for Scarlets this season and made short work of some of Leinster’s best at The RDS last week.
With Scarlets straight out dismantling Munster at the Aviva Stadium, Beirne scored the fourth try of a sensational half.
He didn’t just power over, he bounced off CJ Stander and carried the flanker over the Munster tryline with Niall Scannell and Conor Murray for company. It was an amazing show of strength and willpower.
