Former Ireland internationals Luke Fitzgerald and Alan Quinlan have picked their combined Munster and Leinster team from the professional era.
The two provinces will play each other this Saturday at the Aviva Stadium in the second round of the interprovincial derbies with both sides entering the game in good form following respective wins over Connacht and Ulster.
The two provinces have played each other a grand total of 96 times with Leinster shading Munster with 49 wins compared to the Reds’ 42 wins, with five draws between them.
Both clubs have produced an extensive list of Ireland internationals, and although Leinster have won four European Cups compared to Munster’s two, Munster boast a significant advantage in Quinlan’s and Fitzgerald’s combined XV with the southern province garnering nine selections compared to Leinster’s six.
The biggest rivalry in Irish rugby is set for this Saturday. Last season, @lukefitz11 and @AlanQuinlan1 named their favourite combined XV of the professional era. Would you make any changes? #itsgoodtolive #LEIvMUN @leinsterrugby pic.twitter.com/CNd41lK1xr
