Irish rugby fans haven’t had much to cheer about in the last two weeks.
Paul O’Connell’s injury, our loss to Argentina, and this week confirmation that Tommy Bowe will miss next year’s Six Nations with a knee problem have all meant grim, grim times for any follower of the oval ball.
But there was some good news at least on the home front as a certain returning Dubliner re-appeared in Leinster blue this afternoon for the first time since the spring of 2013.
Johnny Sexton announced in September 2014 that he was returning to Ireland and Leinster after his time at Racing Metro came to a close, and today he was back on the training field for the first time with his native province at Rosemount in UCD.

Sexton missed the loss to Argentina due to a groin injury but it looks as though he’s back to full fitness, but is unlikely to be considered for this weekend’s clash with Benetton Treviso.
