Setting a new bar for post-match celebrations
As the domestic sport seasons have come to a close in recent weeks, we’ve been treated to plenty of footage and images of post-match celebrations following title wins. But South African rugby player Hacjivah Dayimani has put everyone else to shame with his efforts.
On Saturday, his Stormers side won the inaugural United Rugby Championship after a tense 18-13 victory over fellow South African side, the Bulls.
Three days later, footage has emerged of the back row forward drinking champagne in the shower – whilst still in his matchday kit, with his winners’ medal draped around his neck.
Yes, Dayimani has yet to change out of the kit that he played in during the final, and is still drinking in celebration.

Hacjivah Dayimani wants to meet the president
The first sign that these were exceptional celebrations from Dayimani came on Sunday when he was spotted at a Cape Town restaurant with coaches Rito Hlungwani and Gareth Wright still in his full kit and winners medal, News24 reports.
He’s been keeping followers in his Instagram account updated with his celebrations as well. On Monday, he posted a picture of himself on his story holding a beer in which he said he wasn’t going to stop until he meets either the “mayor of Cape Town or the president of the country.”
Could someone in South Africa hook up @Hacjivah 🤞
Need to see the pics when it happens, too 😅 pic.twitter.com/II00Dokr6H

Today is day four of the 24-year-old’s title celebrations, and he is still decked out in the kit.
He was reunited with the URC trophy that his team lifted, on Saturday, today and Supersport presenter Cato Louw got a video of him doing the rounds, and still in top form.

On Tuesday evening, Dayimani showed up for a radio show interview in his full kit and then got part one of his wish, meeting Mayor of Cape Town, Geordin Hill-Lewis for a beer.
He then made a breakfast TV appearance on what is now Day 5 of his ‘7-day journey’, still in the kit.

Dayimani isn’t the only rugby player who has been enjoying themselves following a final win over the weekend.
Closer to home, Freddie Burns has been basking in the glory of his Premiership final heroics.
The Leicester Tigers fly-half kicked a last-minute drop goal to win the title for the East Midlands club on Saturday, and in the early hours of Sunday he posted a video on social media of him eating McDonald’s with the trophy….
Nothing to see here, just Freddie Burns celebrating his Premiership victory with a late night maccies 😂 @FreddieBurns 👑 #rugby #FreddieBurns pic.twitter.com/YJgnahEz3T

Burns shared another video of himself waking up alongside the trophy, cider in hand, the next morning. And, soon after, hosting a chaotic Instagram live with his teammates, in his pants.
Hacjivah Dayimani and Freddie Burns – heroes the both of them. Someone needs to arrange for them to go for a drink together…
