‘Fester’ inaugural IRB player of the year in 2001
Keith Wood has been inducted into the IRB hall of fame tonight at a ceremony in London. The Clare man, who was capped 58 times for his country captained Ireland 36 times and scored a word record 15 tries from hooker.
He was also a two time Lion and becomes the seventh Irish player to take his place in the Hall of Fame after  Ronnie Dawson last year, Jack Kyle, Tony O’Reilly,Willie John McBride, Syd Millar, and Mike Gibson
Wood was also the inaugural winner of the IRB Player of the Year back in 2001.
