Bundee Aki attempting a 65 really is the only thing you need to see today

The commentary is just brilliant

Niall McIntyre

Connacht centre Bundee Aki is one of the greatest cult heroes in Irish sport.

We have embraced Bundee, and he has embraced us.

The 27-year-old is adored in Connacht rugby circles, but also further afield, for his barnstorming style of rugby, but also his wearing of his heart on his sleeve.

We’ve seen him cross, we’ve seen him belting out the Fields Of Athenry with the passion of our lord above, and now, well, we’ve seen his attempt at being a wristy hurler.

The New Zealander is a true human wrecking ball on the pitch, he bulldozes over his opponents like a combine harvester making it’s way through field of corn.

Just imagine the damage that man could do with a hurl in his hand, with quads the size of tree trunks and shoulders the width of a rugby pitch.

He gave it a go at Connacht training on Thursday, and in fairness to him we’ve seen worse attempts at trying to score a point from around 50 mts out.

Never change Bundee.
