A husband. A father. A son. A friend. A Munsterman.
Antony Foley left his mark on this world.
In 42 short years, the impact he had on friends, family, team mates and fans was incomprehensibly massive. With a 13-year Munster career, a 10-year Ireland stint, the legendary number 8 lived a full life. An inspiring one.
A year ago, he was taken from this earth far too son and left the rugby world and the whole of the country in total shock.
In his memory, RTÉ provided a beautiful documentary on Axel, the Munsterman.
Produced by Adrian McCarthy of Wildfire Films, the moving piece was directed by Ross Whitaker and edited by Vinny Beirne and it really amounted to something special.
It celebrated his life, it was poignant and powerful and it drew heartfelt applause from every corner of this island and from people who are still struggling for a way to put into words the impact Foley on each of their own lives.
Past players and family gathered to tell stories of Foley and talk about his legacy in a tear-jerking production.
On Monday night, Anthony Foley: Munsterman was a sad but sweet journey down memory lane with one of the nation’s favourite sons.
