All for One, or so they say.
Every four years, Irish, English, Welsh and Scottish fans pretend to put differences aside to support the Lions in their next to impossible tours to the southern hemisphere.
The Lions are back to the scene of their 3-0 whitewash at the hands of New Zealand, in 2005, and there are thousands of fans flooding in [and flying over] for the Test Series.
Dublin comedian Andrew Maxwell was tasked with capturing that sense of dogged Englishness that may well help the Lions edge past the imposing All Blacks.
Having toured extensively throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, and basing himself out of England for work purposes, Maxwell is well situated to give his unique take on matters.
His skit brilliantly draws upon some all too English of stereotypes that many people will recognise, as well as a nod to the nation’s favourite dish…
All for one, until the All Blacks start running amok.
After that, it is every nation for themselves.
