So many fighters dream of getting the call from the UFC.
For Brett Johns, that dream became a reality this week when the world’s largest promotion signed him to fight at the UFC Belfast card on November 19.
With several big-name fighters being removed from the card due to the injury curse that has been plaguing this island since 2015, the 24-year-old was given the call to make his debut in the SSE Arena against fellow undefeated prospect Kwan Ho Kwak.
Johns became the second Welsh fighter to join the UFC following Jack Marshman, who is set to debut at the same event,to be signed by the UFC. With such a long road to the zenith of the sport, Johns was moved to tears when his manager phoned him to inform him of the good news.

Johns (12-0) enters the UFC as the Titan FC bantamweight champion and as a former Cage Warriors title holder. He holds a perfect 12-0 record with a finishing rate of 50 per cent. Two of his wins were knockout victories with four of them coming by way of submission. His last fight was a split decision victory over Anthony Gutierrez at Titan FC 37.
South Korea’s Kwak (9-0) has six finishes under his belt, all knockouts. He comes into this bout fresh off a win over former UFC fighter Alptekin Ozkilic under the Top FC banner.
