It’s not often that the act of chomping on an apple is newsworthy.
But it is in this case as Ronda Rousey has proven that she has finally recovered from her knockout defeat at the hands (and shin) of Holly Holm last November.
Rousey was so beaten up by Holm during the main event of UFC 193 that she’d revealed that she would not be able to compete for the foreseeable future.
Rumours circulated that Rousey’s jaw had been broken by Holm but UFC president Dana White assured media members and fans that it was just a badly damaged lip that ‘Rowdy’ was suffering from.
“It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact,” Rousey told ESPN in December.
And lo and behold, here we are in March and Rousey has revealed that she is ready to start taking impact in training again.
The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion posted a video on Monday evening of her chomping into an apple which spells the start of her comeback.
