When discussing the greatest coaches in mixed martial arts, the same few names always crop up.
Greg Jackson, Rafael Cordeiro and John Kavanagh are three such examples of the cerebral trainers in modern MMA.
But one name often flies under the radar and he’s arguably the best of the bunch and that’s the one and only Firas Zahabi, head coach of Tristar Gym where Donegal’s lightweight sensation Joseph Duffy is currently training.
Duffy sat down with SportsJOE after being announced as the headliner of UFC Dublin where he will face the most difficult test of his career against Dustin Poirier and the former pro-boxer couldn’t express enough praise for his new gym.
Based in Montreal, Duffy now gets to work alongside top UFC competitors like Rory MacDonald, Tom Breese and John Makdessi while UFC legend Georges St-Pierre often drops by to head up a class.
