This won’t surprise many of you.
Conor McGregor was always going to be the number one preference for UFC president Dana White when considering his candidates for UFC 200.
Even after a defeat, McGregor is the biggest draw for the promotion and they will want him on their flagship event this summer.
‘The Notorious’ has indicated that his next move will be to drop back to 145 lbs to defend his featherweight title and a rematch against Jose Aldo is the most likely option for the main event on July 9.
And for fans worried that McGregor may not feature at UFC 200 following a defeat on his first trip to welterweight, fear not as Dana White has hinted that he’ll be front and centre at the promotion’s inaugural event at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“In this business, it has to burn,” White said during an interview with Russillo and Kanell this week.
“It has to be a desire inside you to fight.
“Conor McGregor is a perfect example. This guy’s going to turn around and fight on [UFC ] 200 again.”
