WATCH: Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping grappled to a draw in bizarre Phoenix event on Sunday

Metamoris rules

Two of the greatest trash-talkers in UFC history met for the second time on Sunday night.

Four years after Chael Sonnen took a unanimous decision victory over Michael Bisping in the Octagon, the pair went toe-to-toe in a ring for UR Fight, an online pay-per-view with a number of odd match-ups.

The event was headlined by a boxing match between Roy Jones Jr. and MMA fighter/fan Vyron Phillips and also included a professional wrestling match between WWE legends Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio.

Sonnen vs. Bisping II was contested under Metamoris rules which dictates that fights can only be won by submission. There are no points awarded as happens in more traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments.

There wasn’t a great deal of action between Sonnen and Bisping who largely treated the contest as an entertaining exhibition for the fans in attendance.

At one point, Bisping jokingly threw an elbow from his guard and, at another, he proudly displayed his Union Jack mouthpiece when the crowd began chanting ‘U.S.A.’

And without a submission before the final bell, a draw was declared but neither fighter will be too bothered as they will have viewed the contest as nothing more than a payday. And one for which they didn’t have to cut weight either.
