Too many chats with Tim and Suzie.
We now know that Conor McGregor’s chief reason for butting heads with UFC chiefs, over UFC 200, regards the sheer amount of time he is having to put in plugging his fights.
McGregor went on one world tour to promote a fight that didn’t happen [Jose Aldo at UFC 189] and delivered more great copy for another that fell by the wayside [Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196].
He expects Nate Diaz to be at UFC 200 but he does not want to flog himself on publicity junkets to get there. As McGregor says, “There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the damn shop.”

It is that metaphorical handing out of flyers that has consumed and drained ‘The Notorious’ so much, according to former UFC star Brendan Schaub.
During the latest Joe Rogan Podcast, Schaub describes how McGregor was able to go from 0-100 in a matter of seconds but how it eventually takes its toll:
“When Conor and I had lunch together, he kept bringing this up – it was a reoccurring theme – ‘Like the media is such a beast. I’ve done interviews before but this is…’
“When any other guy sits down and does an interview, they’re really not selling the fight [well’]. They’e talking about their camp and they’re doing the same things over and over.
“Conor is a master, doing stuff that’s never been seen before. He’s coming up with original content. non-stop. He’s on.
“When he came on our [Fighter & The Kid] podcast, he did the whole car-wash and he looked done.
“Then, when he came to us, he sits down, was thinking and starts spitting out gold. He was a beast.”
