As if Irish fight fans needed another reason to shout for Conor McGregor at UFC 194.
UFC president Dana White has confirmed that the much-discussed Croke Park fight card will happen next summer if McGregor beats Jose Aldo in the unification bout for the UFC featherweight title.
White made the claim while promoting UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia, as he took to the NRL Footy Show to announce the outcome for McGregor if he beats the Brazilian.
The Notorious had made clear his plans to move up to lightweight if he unified the 145 lb title but it sounds like there are different plans at UFC HQ with a featherweight title defence in Dublin 3 on the cards.
“If he beats Jose Aldo in Las Vegas in December, the next fight will be at Croke Park.”
“We told him he could defend his title at Croke Park.”
