“He looks forward to getting back to fighting.”
Conor McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar, has finally released a statement after a whirlwind week which has seen the Dubliner storm the UFC 223 media day, smash up a coach carrying fellow fighters and subsequently turn himself into the authorities in New York.
McGregor’s actions resulted in three fights scheduled fights for UFC 223 to be cancelled, with the former featherweight and lightweight facing multiple charges.
On Saturday, Attar finally released a short but sharp statement, reiterating that the matter is in the hands of the authorities.

McGregor clearly has a lot of issues to deal with right now so it’s striking to read that he’s ‘looking forward’ to getting back into the ring. It certainly seems that the 29-year-old has almost done irreparable damage to his relationship with Dana White and the UFC.
That’s not to say he won’t eventually return. He probably will, but that day certainly seems far away following the events of the last 48 hours. Before he gets back into the Octagon, though, McGregor needs to sort his life out. Although the UFC may have been preparing a new deal for him to return to fight in 2018, everything is up in the air once again.
It’s a shame because, at the end of the day, we just want to see McGregor in the ring, where he belongs and where he first captured our imaginations.
UFC president Dana White on Friday night expressed concern for the star’s mental wellbeing.
“I don’t think that it’s not known but, yeah, I care for Conor,” White said.
“This isn’t the…. Conor has always been had that type of… the reason he’s such a huge star is that he has this unbelievable personality. He’s very cocky and brash, and everything else, but this is just so over the top.
“It makes me feel like something is wrong. He was offended yesterday that I said that but, yes, I agree with you. This is a guy who’s acting like something is not right.”
McGregor had a hearing on Friday at the Kings County Criminal Court in New York. He walked free after his $50,000 bail was posted. The next hearing is scheduled for June 14.
