The Conor McGregor-shaped carrot does not appear to be fuelling Nate Diaz’s planned Octagon return.
No matter what Dana White says, Nate Diaz is adamant that he wants another fight.
Diaz announced on Instagram recently that he wants to fight in summer 2018. While the statement got the fans going, it received a very muted response from the rest of the roster. Initially, top lightweights Eddie Alvarez and Kevin Lee put their names forward to welcome the Stockton native back.
Remarkably, the new fight being talked about is a welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley. The UFC supposedly tried to book the nonsensical fight to save UFC 219, but White claims that gained momentum because of the actions of one of their lawyers.

Woodley and Diaz both seem to think they’re fighting each other next. However, there is still rumblings that Diaz is eyeing up a rubber match against McGregor.
Judging by his recent interview ESPN, McGregor couldn’t be further from Diaz’s mind right now.
“He’s just living his life right now and he’s got a magnifying glass on him, whatever he’s doing. I don’t give a fuck what he does.”
“I’m sure he’s up and down. ‘Do I want to be in these lights? Why am I not in these lights? I need to get in the lights. I need to get out of the lights.’ It’s a crazy roller coaster.”
Typical Diaz response. He’s just ran out of fucks to give.
