Catherine Costigan couldn’t have asked for a better return to Ireland.
The Limerick atomweight didn’t have the rub of the green in her Invicta debut as she was beaten by Amber Brown in her first career loss.
But Costigan gets the chance to rebound from that defeat on home soil as she fights for British-based mixed martial arts promotion BAMMA on their first event to feature female fighters.
Costigan takes on Czech fighter Simona Soukupova at the 3Arena on 19th September which is the first time that BAMMA, an organisation with which current UFC fighters Stevie Ray, Tom Watson and Jimi Manuwa cut their teeth, hosts an event in Ireland.
The Alpha Female has long been touted as the female version of Conor McGregor and she gets the chance to get another run going in just seven weeks time.
