This should be fun.
For some reason, the hype hasn’t really taken off for Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor’s World Lightweight title fight at UFC 229. After all, their Las Vegas clash is just over two weeks away now.
Fear not because with the pair facing off for the first time in the Radio City Music Hall in New York on Thursday night, the build-up is about to be taken up a notch or two.
This was expected to be a low-key event, with Dana White insisting that only press would be present, but Conor McGregor, as only he can, turned the tables on that notion.
The press conference will be open to the public.

The T-Mobile Arena bout on October 7 will mark McGregor’s first UFC fight since he stopped Eddie Alvarez in November 2016. Since then, the Dubliner has been involved in the highest grossing fight of all time against Floyd Mayweather and plenty of controversies on the side too.
For the last while, however, the former Champion has been under the radar, by his standards anyway. That’s a sign that he’s in intense training as he readies himself for the challenge of the Russian who is unbeaten in his 24 UFC fights to date.
