Conor McGregor surely can’t argue with Georges St-Pierre’s reason why he lost to Nate Diaz

Nailed it

If he ever decides to officially throw in the towel, Georges St-Pierre has a lucrative future in the UFC analyst game.

Rush has been discussing his potential comeback (for the umpteenth time) with Bloody Elbow as well as the possibility of facing off against Nick Diaz.

The Canadian also shared his views on the upcoming Conor McGregor rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202.

St-Pierre declares that both McGregor and Diaz are ‘bully fighters’ in that they like to impose themselves on their opponents and rarely take a backward step. He believes The Notorious lost to Diaz, tapping out at UFC 196, because he, in turn, was bullied by Diaz.

He threw the kitchen sink at the Californian and had no utensils left when it was Diaz’ turn to mete it out. GSP then summed up McGregor-Diaz I with a very fitting analogy:

“It’s like Conor McGregor was pacing himself for a 400-metre race. He gave everything, but at the end of this 400m race, now somebody was telling him, ‘I’m sorry, you’re not done yet, you have another 400m to do’.

“And if you didn’t pace yourself, if you go all out thinking you’re going to arrive at the finish line at 400 meters, now you have another 400 meters – you’re done.”

St-Pierre says both Nate and Nick Diaz are proficient at mentally breaking down fighters.

Asked about a rematch, he was wary on giving a prediction. McGregor has the skills to get the job done as long as he is ‘prepared for the worst day of his life’.
