Geoff Neal didn’t have a Wikipedia page before UFC 228… that is likely to change very soon.
The bout between Geoff Neal and Frank Camacho on the UFC 228 preliminary card was predicted by many to be a fight of the night contender. While it was spectacularly violent, it turned out to be a very one-sided affair.
After a patient start, Neal started finding home with his hands. It became apparent very quickly that ‘Handz of Steel’ had the speed advantage. Camacho was game, as always though. Towards the end of the opening frame, Camacho’s face began to show signs of wear. In the last few seconds, a quick combo from Neal saw him drop to the canvas.
Neal continued to be patient in the second. When Camacho tried to take proceedings down to the ground, Neal showed incredible takedown defence to keep it standing. The punches flew and so did the knee landing square on Camacho’s chin. Camacho dug his heels into the canvas and started swinging. Once Neal backed out of the line of fire, Camacho let out an almighty battle cry.
When Camacho followed him, his reward was a seismic head kick to the dome. Camacho was out before he hit the canvas. It was all over by the 1:23 mark of the second round.
It's coming… it's coming… there it is! 😬

The knockout was so brutal, it momentarily broke Joe Rogan. The UFC colour commentator was stuck on loop for several seconds before he eventually snapped out of it.
“Ooooh. Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness. oh my goodness. Oooh maaaaaan. Maaaaaan.”
The result sees Neal improve to 10-2 (2-0 UFC). Meanwhile, Camacho falls to 21-7 by suffering his second successive loss.
