Another day, another Brazilian with something to say about Conor McGregor.
We can now add Anderson Silva to the list which already features the likes of Jose Aldo, Rafael dos Anjos, Diego Brandao, Fabricio Werdum and Hacran Dias as Brazilian fighters who have offered words of warning to ‘The Notorious.’
Middleweight legend Silva has told McGregor that he should “be careful” when talking about Brazilians and has claimed that he believes that McGregor will lose his upcoming lightweight title fight with Rafael dos Anjos.
And not to be swayed by the fact that McGregor beat former featherweight champion Jose Aldo in just thirteen seconds last December, Silva maintains that Aldo is the better fighter.
“Conor McGregor is a great fighter,” Silva told MMAWeekly.com. “He’s doing his job very well. He’s very intelligent and knows exactly what he’s doing.
“But Rafael cannot get led on by his antics because it didn’t work out very well for Jose Aldo.
“I think both Jose Aldo and Rafael dos Anjos can beat him.”
Silva has had his fair share of dealings with trash-talkers in his time and he went through something similar with Chael Sonnen who made light of impoverished Brazilian children ahead of UFC 148.
And ‘The Spider’ has warned McGregor to watch his mouth with regards to how he speaks about people from Brazil.
“I also think that Conor McGregor should really be careful about what he says about Brazilians because the last person who spoke about a Brazilian, it didn’t end too well for him.”
