The fight would make sense for the UFC because Stephens finished his last fight, a UFC 189 comeback knockout of Dennis Bermudez, in such impressive fashion and the promotion would have a readymade day-saver if their UFC 194 main event falls apart in Edgar.
If the matchmakers do add Edgar v Stephens to the December 12th event then it will be one of the most stacked cards in UFC history as the main card currently features Aldo v McGregor, Weidman v Rockhold and Romero v Jacare. Explore more on these topics:
