VIDEO: Dana White hits out at “dumb” Jon Jones for getting in trouble with police again

He’s not in the UFC for his brains anyway.

Jon Jones has just about managed to avoid being stuck in jail for his rematch with Daniel Cormier at UFC 197, but Uncle Dana isn’t happy.

The head of the UFC must have facepalmed at least five times when he heard that the former light-heavyweight champion was in trouble for swearing at police recently.

Last month ‘Bones’ was ticketed for drag racing in Albuquerque, which was a violation of his probation for a hit-and-run in 2015.

Jones was caught on police camera describing the police officer as a f**king liar” and a “pig” among other insults.

Speaking to TMZ last night, Dana White said what Jones did was incredibly stupid, especially considering his previous problems with the law.

“I haven’t talked to him obviously, he’s been a little tied up since that happened. Let me tell you what, when I get pulled over by the police I am the most polite human being you’ve ever met in your life. There’s no upside to talking back to the police.

“It’s the dumbest thing you could ever do, especially if you’re in Jon Jones’ position.”

Jones spent the best part of two days in police custody for his stupidity, and White thinks he knows why the ex-champion has suddenly reverted back to the bad-boy form that he seemed to have left behind over the last few months

“I don’t think Jon Jones is ever going to be the Jon Jones people expect him to be. I think Jon’s going to do Jon. I think Jon tried so hard to play the good guy for so long it drove him crazy. Jon is just going to be Jon now.”

Jones is banned from driving without permission from his probation officer in addition to community service, a driving education course and anger management classes as part of his probation agreement.
