Khabib and now McGregor in bother with Vegas NSAC after new footage of post-fight madness

Conor McGregor could be in a spot of bother now too.

The Las Vegas Nevada State Athletic Commission are set to file complaints against both Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov for their actions as part of the brawl that followed the Russian’s victory over the Dubliner in the lightweight decider at UFC229.

With Khabib completely losing the plot after the fight, his earnings from his night’s work were immediately withheld by the Las Vegas Commision. Conor McGregor received his €3 million pay day at the time, but after their reviewing of previously unseen footage, the they have decided to file a complaint against the Irish man as well.

McGregor could be seen throwing a punch from the top of the cage in the new footage of the brawl so he will likely be suspended and fined, having previously been in hot water with the NSAC for his infamous press conference with Nate Diaz which ended with both fighters throwing cans and bottles at one another.

A full and lengthy investigation is being undertaken by the commission into the post-fight madness at the T-Mobile Arena, with footage from all angles being reviewed in great detail and interviews being carried on and sought after with anybody who may have any extra information on what caused or incited the scrap.

Conor McGregor complaint

Nurmagomedov appeared the instigator of the whole thing, with his immediate reaction to the final bell being sounded seeing him climb the cage before venturing all guns blazing into Conor McGregor’s corner.

A video showed Conor McGregor throw a punch at a member of the Nurmagomedov camp not long after, before he was then sucker-punched from behind.

Three of the men involved in the chaos were arrested, but they were soon to be released after the Crumlin native decided against pressing charges.

NSAC chairman Anthony Marnell told ESPN that those three offenders may still face repercussions for their indiscretions.

“We know exactly who he is and where he is. I have to let the attorney general determine — is that trespassing, disturbing the peace?”

Meanwhile, Marnell revealed that Khabib and McGregor will discover their fate by November – the consensus at the moment is that Khabib could face a suspension, a fine and being stripped of his title by the UFC depending on the length of that suspension.

“Temporary suspensions will be out shortly, and we’re shooting for a final hearing date in November,” he said

What a crazy game.
