Joe Silva is making sure there will be as many eyes as possible on UFC 202.
The UFC matchmaker, Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta have finally gotten the Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor rematch over the line with confirmation of the fight coming during the broadcast of UFC 199 on Saturday night.
Diaz vs. McGregor II will headline UFC 202 on August 20 after a lengthy negotiation process came to a close at the weekend.
And already the card is gathering momentum and buzz as reports have emerged that former WWE superstar CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks) is set to make his mixed martial arts debut on the same card.
Jeremy Botter, managing editor of FloSports, has broken many fight announcements in the past and he’s revealed that he’s led to believe the much-anticipated Brooks vs. Mickey Gall fight is being targeted for UFC 202.

Brooks signed with the UFC in December, 2014 but extensive training under Duke Roufus coupled with a pair of injuries have delayed his debut.
But it seems that we’re finally going to see what Brooks, who has no amateur experience in martial arts, has learned at Milwaukee’s Roufusport gym.
Brooks’ opponent, Gall, was identified by UFC president Dana White on his talent-seeking show Lookin’ for a Fight and after getting through his first appearance in the Octagon unscathed, Gall was confirmed as the perfect candidate to welcome Brooks to MMA.
