More curiosity than normal surrounded the results of Anderson Silva’s other drug tests that were administered to him ahead of his UFC 183 bout with Nick Diaz.
Silva (34-6) had initially tested positive for the performance enhancing drugs, drostanolone and androstane, in an out-of-competition urine test that took place on January 9th.
But Silva’s blood test from January 19th have come back with no traces of PEDs or human growth-hormone after the results were released today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
While it’s unclear whether Silva’s latest results will affect any punishment that will be handed to the former middleweight champion, it’s certainly a relief to fans of “The Spider”.
Silva’s case will be heard by the NSAC on February 17th at which he will likely be provisionally suspended from competition as he awaits a formal hearing in either March or April.
