Racing empire Goldophin shake up roster with two big name signings for 2015.

Sheikh Mohammed is not a man who does things in half measures and it seems that the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates is going big for 2015.

In some shock news today James Doyle is to leave Juddmonte to become primary jockey for Saeed Bin Suroor while Buick will become the number one man for Charlie Applelby as he leaves behind the John Gosden stable. It’s bad news however for Silvestre de Souza who despite winning the Dubai World Cup in the springtime is dumped.

Doyle is rated among the top riding talents in the world and recently brought Noble Mission to Champion Stakes glory last month

The news was announced on the Godolphin website and Doyle is quoted  as expressing his joy at the move:

“I have had a wonderful season riding for Juddmonte and Prince Khalid during which I was fortunate to ride the best horse of my career so far in Kingman. Noble Mission was another great racehorse produced by Juddmonte that helped bring my career forward. I shall always be eternally grateful for that one-year contract which leaves me with great memories.

Buick  has previously enjoyed success with Dar Re Mi, The Fugue and  Arctic Cosmos.

The news raises the temperature for the other stables as Goldophin look to recover some of the ground they have lost over the last two years after the drug ban for Mahmood Al-Zarooni and claiming just one Group One at Royal Ascot, traditionally the highlight for the UAE vice president and his stable.
