The secret is to aim for the rocks, not the grass
Every single golf fan in the world would love to have a cut off the 17th at Sawgrass.
Hell we only play pitch and putt half the time and we’d fancy trying to land our tee shot onto ‘Island Green’
It’s just an absolute beaut of a golf-hole and every single year it causes the best golfers in the world trouble.
But Will MacKenzie thinks has figured out how to avoid the water and get the perfect line to get par at the tricky hole at this year’s Players Championship.
His tee shot came within inches of the water before landing in the rough behind the hole thanks to a wild ricochet off the side of the water feature
He then chipped onto the green to secure probably the best par ever at the hole
Is this the best par on No. 17 since Fred Couples in 1999? #QuickHitshttps://t.co/VWUZ0Sg7Cy

Not that the par did him much good overall as he ended the day five over par and won’t be around for the weekend.
But at least he’ll have the memories of this insane par.
