In the middle of what looks like a building site, Rory McIlroy demonstrates his swing is in fine fettle ahead of the start of the new golf season.
One of the most exciting things about the sporting year stretching out in front of us is what Rory McIlroy may achieve. If he lands the Masters in Augusta in April not only will the Irish golfer have completed the full set of Majors in his career at just 25, he will also hold three simultaneously and set up the prospect of a Rory Slam at the US Open.
It is a big ask but if he plays as well as he did in the second half of last year, it is more than a realistic proposition. However, you don’t get to be the best by talent alone, it requires practice and after four weeks off, McIlroy returned to work this week ahead of his first tournament of 2015, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, which tees off next week.
Yesterday McIlroy posted a sweat-soaked shirt to Twitter and today he used Instagram to give us a fantastic slo-mo update on how his swing looks. We’re no experts but that looks pretty damn good to us.
